HEART OF WARRIORSHIP - LEVEL V

May 5-7, 2017

Prerequisite: Completion of the Heart of Warriorship – Level IV.

The Shambhala Heart of Warriorship Levels consist of five weekend workshops that include the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship - a path of nonaggression born from the bravery and gentleness of meeting our world without bias or judgment. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life in our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action. Becoming a warrior in the Shambhala tradition means developing the courage to meet life’s challenges with openness and strength.

The Heart of Warriorship Levels provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuine confidence, humor, and personal dignity within the complexity of daily life. These workshops are recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as for those looking to enrich their existing spiritual tradition.

In Open Sky–Heart of Warriorship Level V one begins to sharpen one’s awareness. One also finds the open clear sky of mind, which is a delightful source of wisdom and uplifted energy. By learning to trust our nature enough to let go into the present moment, the Shambhala teachings help us to soften our hearts and appreciate the sacredness of our daily lives.

The Heart of Warriorship weekends consist of instruction in meditation (the practice of sitting and walking meditation in a group setting), one-on-one interviews, discussion groups, and talks by the director. Continental breakfasts are provided on Saturday and Sunday. Please bring your own lunch both days.
