Our Community

Our community is diverse, capable, and heartfelt. Our members and friends include dedicated senior teachers who have walked the Shambhala Buddhist path for many years, and enthusiastic newcomers who are just discovering our teachings on realizing basic goodness and building enlightened society.

We have many opportunities to volunteer including keeping the Center clean, helping with publicity and outreach, and being time keeper for meditation (after a little training!). We hold Community Meetings regularly so we can hear from everyone and help us make decisions about the future directions of Shambhala Tucson.

Shambhala Global Services

The Tucson Shambhala Mediation Center is part of a worldwide network of Shambhala Centers and Groups, under the support of Shambhala Global Services.

Shambhala Global Services

[CLICK HERE] to see an Overview of Shambhala Global Services (SGS) and what SGS funds solely support. At present, the Tucson Shambhala Meditation Center, makes no contribution to either the Potrang or SGS, though in 2018 the TSMC transferred $6,200 to SGS and in 2019 the TSMC transferred $800 to SGS. Individual members can make, and some are making individual donations DIRECTLY to the SGS for which the TSMC will get credit, but those donations are not made from monies donated by TSMC members to TSMC either directly or via the Shambhala Credit Union. SGS has recently requested that Centers consider making regular contributions again and the TSMC Council will begin considering this request at its next meeting.
