The vision of Shambhala is that a gentle and dignified life based on meditative understanding is accessible to everyone, and can blossom into enlightened society. Contemplative practices bring to our ordinary lives a natural sense of goodness, fearlessness, and humor. We welcome everyone who would like to learn meditation practice and who aspires to expand the experience of gentleness and non-aggression into all areas of life.
The Tucson Shambhala Meditation Group is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and further developed by his son and lineage holder Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. At our center, located at 3250 North Tucson Boulevard, we offer basic meditation classes, free meditation instruction, a curriculum of Buddhist studies and Shambhala Training—a progressive series of weekend workshops that help students develop a personal meditation practice in order to engage more fully and compassionately in the world. TSMG also provides many opportunities for communal gatherings, celebrations, and events.
We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.
